The Breath of Life
Biodynamic Craniosacral Foundations  and Practices
November17-20, 2010
Temecula, California

This class explores the philosophical and practical foundations of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

The concepts originate in the osteopathic tradition and its understanding of  the basic principles of life and healing. The practical work is gentle, effective and deeply healing.

Specific areas to be covered include:
• History and foundations of craniosacral therapy
• Palpating Health and its many expressions
• Potency, motility and tides.
• Stillness and stillpoints
• The Inherent Treatment Plan
• The Long Tide as a field phenomena
• The embryological impulse
• Wholistic shift, patient neutral and resonance
• Perceptual skills of the wide field and divided attention
• The state of balance as a wholistic phenomenon
• Primary Respiration as a mechanism and system
• Developing non-reactive neutral presence.
• Developing classical practitioner “fulcrums”
• Attachment theory and how practitioner -client relationship opens the possibility of
healing deep wounds.
• Relational skills of contact, touch, space, permission and presence.
Restoring Resilience
in the Nervous System-
A Biodynamic Approach

April 2011
Temecula, California

This seminar is about the foundations of biodynamic craniosacral therapy and
how this gentle yet effective approach encourages healing and self-regulation
of the nervous system and the body as a whole.

Biodynamic Craniosacral has its roots in osteopathic principles of natural healing. It teaches us to support the self-organizing forces within.

Since it is claimed that 90 per cent of the disease in our current culture is based on Autonomic Nervous System(ANS) imbalance, we will explore practical biodynamic craniosacral approaches that re-regulate ANS  balance.

You will learn to perceive “activation”, “settling” and “discharge” in
the nervous system and “track” this as a way of bringing conscious awareness and re-regulation. You will learn to use hand contacts and therapeutic intentions to affect autonomic  balance and restore a “resilient baseline”.

You will develop an understanding of the embryologic formation of the central nervous system and learn to sense its “motility” as an expression of health and healing intention.

In this class, we will explore theory and practical  work related to:
• Primary Respiration as therapeutic healing force.
• The three tidal layers and their resources
• The “relational healing field” and its effect on stress
• The fluid body and its shock absorbing ability
• Palpation of the fluid body and its natural healing forces and shifts.
• Stillpoints, stillness and states of balance in nervous system regulation
• Embryonic and energetic impulses of healing
• The role of “client neutral” or “wholistic shift” in re-regulation.
• Tracking tools and presence as a gateway to nervous system resolution
• Resolving nociceptive facilitation of the nervous system
• Stress Spirals and Selye’s General Adaptation Syndrome
• Stephen Porges’ Social Engagement Nervous System(SENS) and
and its interplay with sympathetic and parasympathetic balance
• Coherency as a reflection of nervous system balance
• Appropriate use of verbal and non-verbal skills in relating to nervous system
balance.
• Self-help movements for improving nervous system re-regulation
Healing With Ease
States of Balance-
Functional Biodynamics
February 2011
Temecula, California

“The bioenergy field of health is a palpable sensation, it is possible to literally feel the bioenergy of health at work within our patients.” Rollin Becker

In this class, you will learn to perceive and support natural self-healing impulses through touch and intention. As you develop a neutral perception and hands-on connection with these forces, you will support them in clarifying and completing the “work” of healing. This supports your healing practice in become more gentle, effective and efficient.

The major intention in this class is to present some of the most important healing principles within craniosacral therapy: 'the state of balance', ‘the unit of function’, ‘direction of ease’, the 'fluid body' and 'expression of potency'. This functional mid-tide orientation will give you tools to work with tissue, fluid, membrane and energy within a context of Wholeness.

In this class we will explore concepts and skills that relate to:
• Practitioner support of natural self-healing impulses
• Practitioner presence and anchors
• Perceiving 'shapes' of experience, inertia' and 'inertial’ fulcrums and potencies
• Biodynamic and biokinetic forces, shapes, fulcrums and movements
• Dr. Rollin Becker’s “Diagnostic Touch“ three step healing process
• Perceiving expressions of Health within states of balance
• Perceiving tissue and fluid reorganization
• The role of 'balance' and stillness in the healing process.

The unfoldment of the Breath of Life and the 'three tides' will be discussed as part of a holographic model of the human system. Palpation sessions will center around the mid tide, the fluid body and the functional approach. We will hold this in a larger context of sensing the three tides and the 'the perceptual fields' and healing processes that arise in these different relationships.
